JPG Revisited

Last week I posted some images showing the lack of significant visual effect on multiple savings of a jpg image.  It occurred to me that I was working with an image at 480 ppi.  The minimum for printing is considered to be 300 ppi, and for screen image resolution 72 ppi.  I ran my exercise a second time after I reduced the original image to 72 ppi.  Not only is the original degraded, the image after 50 saves is beginning to show the jpg artifact effect.  Here are the images.

Love that you presented this ... I know that any reconfiguring/saving/etc. creates image deterioration but to actually see it is interesting (an experiment I have thought about but never followed through). Guess I think like my dad!
