Here is an example of a photograph I took that just didn't have the right look for me. I used PhotoShop elements to "doctor" it up the way we once used dodging, and a lot of touch up.

First the original.



Then the "fix."

















The problems with the original were the rock in the foreground had a big slash of gray paint on it, detracting from the look, the bridge was partially in shadow and partially in sun giving it an uneven light, the background was very distracting, and a large number of branches cluttered the scene. So how did I do?

I didn't think that the original could be improved upon... was I wrong! It's fantastic. Love the lightness of the look. The splashes of color. The forest background looks so heavenly now.. Perfect!
